Austin McMahon is an American jazz drummer and composer of the highest caliber. His sensitivity combined with his constant pursuit of artistry, have led him to wide recognition amongst musicians and audiences alike. Throughout his career Austin has accompanied countless notable names in the jazz world including: Joe Lovano, David Liebman, George Garzone, Ben Monder, John Hebert, Frank Kimbrough and has performed as an opening act for Grammy award-winners Dianne Reeves and Esperanza Spalding. On tour in the United States, Austin has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Earshot Jazz Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, Nashville Jazz Workshop and “FoNT” (Festival of New Trumpeters). Internationally, he has appeared at Casa de Teatro Jazz Festival - Dominican Republic, Young Jazz in Town Festival - Foligno, Italy, and Ballydehob International Jazz Festival – Cork, Ireland. In addition, McMahon is the winner of the 9th annual Independent Music Awards for Jazz Song Category and Arthur is a Teaching Fellow for Jazz Improvisation at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
