Rick Gardner’s musical journey has been a very strange ride. Bustin Bob Mitchell, the noted Cincinnati, OH Funk Journalist, said “Gardner’s resulting “rubberhorn” sound is now emerging. P-Funk radio’s JTRP aka Keith Jackson recently said “Your music is like a movie sound track….sounds like something’s about to happen!” Rick has spent the last few years developing a music production studio for the purpose of licensing his music through various online sources. For over 40 years he toured the world with Bill Chase, Marvin Gaye, Bootsy Collins, and George Clinton. Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, Kush Griffith and Rick were the world famous “Horny Horns”. He played electric trumpet with Ray “Doors” Manzarek at the Whiskey A Go Go with guest artist Iggy Pop. In July of 2002 he performed at the ESPY Awards show with Snoop Dogg and Bootsy Collins hosted by Samuel L Jackson. He is on the Brian Culbertson CD “Bringing Back the Funk”. One of his co-written works, Lickety Split aired on Saturday Night Live. He has received several RIAA awards.
